1. Who We Are

Salary Spy ("we", "us", "our") is a mobile application providing anonymous salary benchmarking data for professionals in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region and Egypt. The app is operated by Mohamed Elgebaly, an individual developer based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to provide the service:

• Anonymous usage data: When you search for a salary benchmark, we record the job title, country, experience level, and industry you searched for — with no link to you personally.
• Anonymous salary submissions: If you contribute salary data, we collect the salary amount, job title, country, industry, and experience level you submit. We never ask for your name, company, or contact information.
• Device identifier (RevenueCat): If you purchase the Full Report, our payment provider RevenueCat assigns your device an anonymous ID to process and restore your purchase. This ID is not linked to your personal identity.
• App usage analytics: We collect anonymized, aggregated data about how the app is used (e.g., which screens are visited) to improve the product. This data cannot be linked to individual users.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
• Your employer or company name
• Your location beyond the country you select
• Your device's precise GPS location
• Your contacts, photos, camera, or microphone
• Any biometric data

4. How We Use Your Information

The anonymous data we collect is used solely to:

• Calculate and display salary benchmarks and percentile rankings
• Improve the accuracy of our compensation data over time
• Process and restore in-app purchases
• Understand how users interact with the app to improve it

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the salary benchmarking service.

5. Payment Data

All payments are processed through Apple's App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card details. If you purchase the Full Report ($9.99), the transaction is handled entirely by Apple or Google. RevenueCat is used solely to verify and restore your purchase status — it does not store payment details.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. We use the following service providers, who are each bound by strict data processing agreements:

• RevenueCat — purchase management (anonymous device ID only)
• Supabase — database hosting (anonymous usage data only)
• Apple App Store / Google Play — app distribution and payment processing

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Salary Spy or its users.

7. Data Retention

Anonymous salary submission data is retained indefinitely to maintain the integrity of our benchmark dataset. Since this data contains no personal identifiers, it cannot be linked back to you and therefore cannot be deleted on request. Anonymous usage analytics are retained for 12 months.

8. Children's Privacy

Salary Spy is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has submitted data through our app, please contact us at salaryspyme@gmail.com.

9. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personal data, most data rights (access, correction, deletion) are not applicable. However:

• You may contact us at any time at salaryspyme@gmail.com
• You may request that we delete any identifiable information if you believe we hold it
• You may opt out of anonymous analytics by adjusting your device's privacy settings

10. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect the data we hold, including encrypted database storage and secure API connections. However, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to contact us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized access.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
